Paying for Travel

Managing payments for business travel should be simple and transparent. At Platinum Travel, we’ve designed our process to align with your company’s policies while keeping the traveler experience seamless.

Depending on your organization’s setup, you may have one of the following options:

• Central Corporate Card – If your company uses a central corporate card, it will be available for selection during checkout.

• Individual Payment – If you are responsible for your own bookings, you can securely save a personal or corporate card to your traveler profile for faster checkout.

• Central Corporate Card: If your company uses a central card, airline tickets are charged directly at the time of booking.

• Individual Payment: If your company does not use a central card, you’ll need to select your personal or corporate card when checking out in the portal.

• Taxes & Fees: Government taxes, surcharges, and airline-imposed fees are included in the ticket price shown at checkout.

• Ancillary Purchases: Optional extras (like seat upgrades, baggage fees, or Wi-Fi) are usually charged directly by the airline and may not appear on the original invoice.

When booking hotels, payment options may vary:

• Prepaid Rates: The room is paid in advance through the Platinum Travel Portal or app. At check-in, you’ll still need to present a credit card for incidentals (e.g., minibar, room service, damages). This is a temporary hold and will be released if unused after checkout.

• Pay-at-Hotel Rates: Payment is collected directly at the property upon check-in or check-out. A credit card is required at that time for both the room rate and any incidentals.

If your company uses a central corporate card, the room rate and taxes/fees will be covered, though you'll still need to present a card for incidentals.

When picking up a rental car, requirements depend on the type of booking:

• Prepaid Rentals: A card must still be presented at the counter for the security deposit. The hold is released once the vehicle is returned.

• Pay-Later Rentals: You’ll need to provide a card at pickup to cover both the rental charges and the deposit.
